Hello to everyone.

I went yesterday for my review and was told because of the weight I had lost it would be better to only have half a CC band fill?

I have now lost 3st 8lbs in 12 weeks and am pleased but the pain when they are doing the fills is still awful does this ever get easier? The nurse told me as we loose the weight it is to get to the port??? HELP I am such a baby.

I have set myself a 4st target before xmas as that will be half the weight I want to loose do you think it is possible or am I expecting to much?

I was also told after the yesr the band fills will be £150 per time WOW I better had get down before the year them.....

I got talking to other band people in the waiting room and none of them seem to have set themselves any targets is this usual? One lady had lost 7st last year and look great but had only lost a stone in 3 months she told me it gets slower as we get down I didnt know that I thought with the band it will be quicker.

Dianne, I'm sorry to hear that the band fills still remain painful for you. I'm afraid I have no experience with fills so I don't have any words of wisdom for you on that.

In regards to goals or targets, I don't think it is bad to have them BUT you need to make sure they are realistic goals. You also don't want to beat yourself up if you don't reach those goals in the time frame that you have in mind. Everyone's body is different and none of us will lose at the same rate. BUT it is true that the closer you get to your ideal weight the slower you will lose. Even with a band. Actually historically someone who had the band vs. the RNY will lose slower because you don't have the malabsorption. Just keep doing what you are doing. I think you have had a great weight loss so far but don't get down on yourself if things slow down.

Hi I am concerned now about pain again, I am due to have a fill next week in the Philippines, the surgery was excellent helping me get a 45 lb weight reduction with no fill, now I am having a double fill in one go and hope to only pay around fifty pounds, the surgery only cost 2850 pounds and its been a great sucess, I sure hope the fill is a good a job, weight has to go for ever

I paid £7500 for my band to be fitted in the UK. I cant believe how much the price differs in each country

The band fills for the first year are unlimited and I have had 3 upto now so have 7cc in mine.

After the year they cost £150 per time how ever much they put in? Yet in london with another place they cost £60 per time and he will only do it every 6 weeks. Yet my place were I had the op will do band fills every 2 weeks until they feel you have the right amount in?

I will be paying for the next 3 years for my op and hope that I get the all my weight of in the first year as the cost of the op is makoing life hard for me now.

I am half way through now and had my op in August 2007 I have lost nearly 4st and want to loose another 4 and half stone befoe August so I do not have to pay for the band fills.
