Smile re fills

Good Morning to everyone

I woul like to say thank you for the reply about the fills I wonder why you have to wait 10 months? I will go on wednesday and have the dressings took off then have to go back again for the 8 week top up.

My currrent weight is 18st I have a mini goal and would like to get to a dress size ratherthan a weight as I might meet that quicker.

If you are online in the uk please let me know maybe we can chat online. I would like to talk to people about the re fill asap please.

take care Dianne

It depends on the size band you got. There are 5cc and 10cc bands. I have the 5cc band and I was given .8cc the first time. I felt something for about 10 days. Then I started getting the "between meal hunger". Time for a fill!!
The next fills were only .1-.2 at a time. I think I'm at 1.7 cc now and I can tell I need another adjustment.

Hey all,

I will be going for my first filling on 10/05. Does it really make a difference on how much you can consume and what you feel? How long are the needles? I've noticed that I can eat more than the "4oz" stomach. Is this because it might not be tight enough????

Yes!!! You will notice that the further from surgery and closer to your first fill you will be able to eat a little more than you thought you could. That will change after your 1st fill. Right now your band is fully deflated or "open" but don't worry about that, it feels constricted because it is compared to before surgery and there is quite a bit of swelling around the stomach tissue from being manipulated by the MD during surgery. Remember, we have the advantage of manipulation and fine tuning. It' great

Default First band fill in OCtober

Good Morning to everyone

I am getting worried as I got weighed yesterday and only lost 1lb last week and I think it is because I have started soft food on Monday.

I am walking more than ever and only having what is on the list but I am feeling hungry. Will be alright to go back on the soups do you think? I had lost 5lbs the week before and now feel I might be slowing down.

My first band fill is october the 23rd 9 weeks after the band was fitted?

Thanks Rashell!!! I've been a bit discouraged reading all of the by pass gang's threads they are dropping like 100 Lbs a week!! But atleast we have the ability to "play" with our band and fine tune it's size, to help us restrict ourselves. :-)

Waterbottle, I haven't moved onto soft foods yet but perhaps the food you intake carries more carbs than all the liquids you were previously on. Everyone's body reacts differently, that's what I keep telling myself!! But don't worry My first fill is in 2 weeks so hopefull this will help us lose some more :-) Just keep doing what you're doing, I started walking myself, I walk for about 30-to 1hr. Don't worry girl, those pounds will continue to shed off!!!

Hi there James.

Sounds like you've had quite a lot in one go, maybe too much? Just looking at the other posts alot of people had around the 2cc mark for their first fill. Maybe you need to ease in to it. Hopefully everything will be ok for Christmas.
