I'd say it's the doc's call, and I wouldn't do anything until you get their okay. It's more about healing than long-term living with the band, so as soon as your doc says it's safe, go for it! I wouldn't think it would be more than a month or so, though. You'll be so in touch with your tummy that you'll probably know when you're ready too.

"I can't ride the roller coasters at the amusement park. ... I can't play sports with my friends because I can't keep up." Do not come up with all these because when you are perfectly perfect, you can do and play as well. So wait and watch. Take regular diet, water and do exercise as well. Hope you get well soon.
