What are some of the general complications?

The mortality rate from the Lap Band is one of the lowest among weight loss surgeries. It is suggested that the mortality rate is 1 in 5000, or maybe less.
Removal of Lap Band resulting from
- Erosion
- Slippage/obstructions
- Balloon failure
- Port infections
Roughly 10% require re-operation, of which around 5% are major.
