It's youth and RNY, she's very disciplined also which helps plus the few times where she basically wasn't eating anything because of her stricture. But so far she's healthy and eating and supposedly talking all her pills etc... I asked her what her goal was and she just shrugs her shoulders. I try not to focus too much on it as I don't want her to be all focused on that part of her. Does that make sense? I was always put on diets as a kid by my mother and don't want to put that kind of pressure on her. Although she puts enough on herself I just don't want to add to it. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. It can get very complicated.

But anyway all's good knock on wood and I see you're doing well also so you must be pleased. Do you feel pretty healthy and all? Let me know. Take care Nancy.

Whoah! That is amazing. She is doing so great. When is she gonna join us?

She had a lot to lose and also was sick for a while with that stricture so I think that's why she lost so quickly. I don't think she'll be joining, she's in college and doesn't do the forum thing like her crazy mom!!

I have a hiatal hernia......it sucks.....but hey, isn't the band attached to a cord implanted to your side....so then it couldn't really be a projectile ....it would just be "hangin out"?

Do they do anything for the hiatal hernia??? Just curious, I'm still waiting to hear what they'll do. My BIL has one but he said it just feels like pressure in his chest but I get pains.

Stitches pop off a lap band, I read recently where a woman was lifting something heavy and it made her stitches pop off. Some people never get the stitches also so there's always that risk of putting out someone's eye, some day we will all be reading the cover of a National Enquirer in the line at the grocery store and believe you me.....

I got mine after my lap band so I'm hoping to get it removed now, the lb. A lot of people have them prior to WLS surgery and get them stitched up during surgery, thanks brandyII.

Hi Brandy;

I'm new to this forum, but have been over at lapbandtalk for a while. Just wondering what ever came of your band. Was it removed? I'm having some reflux problems and have to have an upper GI next week and I'm extremely nervous because I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE MY BAND!!!!

Bamboobabe,

My issue was twofold, I had problems with the reflux and still do but the marriage between myself and the band has broken up. It was never the right procedure for me and I'm happy with the divorce. I'm officially debanded as of two weeks ago today and do not plan on any type of revision.

I don't know what problems could be causing your reflux, I never had it until about 3 months ago and never had it prior to banding but it's still lingering. There are many meds they can put you on but you also have to see if your band is too tight or if there is any other issue going on. So go to your doctor and see what he thinks your issue could be and it's still possible you won't have to lose the band but I wanted to lose mine so it's a different situation. Good luck to you brandyII.
