Welcome to TT

CLear diets and any other diets are what your doctor tells you they are.... we can give you all kinds of advice but ultimately follow your doctors.

When I was on a clear diet I was able to eat anything you can see thru.. broth, sf jello, popsicles , isopure protein drinks

Soft- I was told to stay away from carbs whether potatoes, oatmeal, pasta such softs for at least 6 months but I really could eat anything else- I also stay away from bread... I still stay away from these items (except for oatmeal like once a week) but the rest of them make me ill

good luck are you post or pre op?

suebry05 is ultimately right - go with the dr's orders.

Clear liquids to my doc was more like "transparent" liquid. And it wasn't just breakfast lunch and dinner... I was drinking 3-4 oz of protein "clear" liquid (isopure was the easiest) every hour so that I could get my required 60 - 90 gms of protein in. I could also have sugar free popsicles (which I didn't - personal preference) and jello, and soup broths. Because I was drinking all the time, I didn't have time to get hungry.
