Smile Had my Gastrc ByPass Tuesday, March 2, 2010

My name is Carolna Angeles. I'm from Lytle, TX. I am 32 years old. I work For Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas. I am married to a wonderful man, his name is Misael. I have two children. Sandra who is eleven, and Jimmy who is 14. My family has been very supportive. I want to send a special THANK YOU to a friend I met the day I came home from the hospital. Her name is, "Msliberty". She has been a great support amd I'm glad we met. The reason I decided to have this sergury was because last year my mother became very ill. She was very overwieght. She became sick very quickly. Everything came to her all at once. It was becuase of the weight and I don't want my children to go through what my sisters and myself have been through. They have suffered as well as I. Seeing her go through everything she went through. My begining weight was 276. I tried really hard and was able to get down to 223 with the help of dieting and excersizing. I didn't give up. I just wanted help. The first week was very hard. VERY HARD but it's over now and I think with the help and support of friends and family , " I WILL GET TO MY GOAL WEIGHT". 145. So this is me and I hope to make great friends here.

Welcome to the boards! I am on my way to getting all the required things done to be able to have the surgery. It helps to have such great support. Sorry to hear about your mom, I am eager to see before and after pics when you hit your goal.

Default Welcome

Hi Carolina

I am only a couple of days ahead of you. I had my GBP on Friday 2/26/10.
Still on a full liquid diet. I have done well with the pain from the surgery, but due to sitting to much and sleeping in my lounger the first couple of days, my back has been killing me. I have been putting heat pads on it but I guess it is keeping my mind off my stomach LOL.

Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Fancy Nancy

Hi Carolina -

We have something in common. My GBS was performed on 3/2/2010 as well. I am a chemical engineer, married, one beautiful little girl (15 months old). Life is pretty good.

My first week was HELL. I was a wreck emotionally. However, yesterday was better and I'm hoping for a good day today. How long will you be off from work? I will return on tomorrow (Thursday).

I decided to have the surgery after realizing I had lost complete control of my life. I am 5'10" and my weight had gotten up to 346 pounds. Though outwardly I reflected self-confidence, inwardly I was very sad. I feel good that I have started to regain control of my life again, and hopefully will not have to face the ills that would have overtaken me had I continued to spiral out of control.

Currently on full liquids and feeling pretty good physically. I'll be so glad to begin to feel myself again. Perhaps getting back to work will help.

Hope that we can become good friends. Feel free to email me anytime. I could really use the support as well.

AH

I too want to welcome you to this forum. Hope we can be friends. I had my surgery in October. Sounds like a long time ago but it is only 5 months.

I still learn something new every day.

Please do not hesitate to Post your questions. We all were new once too.

I am so happy for you. Though the beginning is rough just remember it doesn't stay that way. It does get better.

Welcome to the losing side of life.
