Smile its just liz

hi guys just thought id introduce myself here im a gastric bander of over 4 years and i live in the UK.

had my 1st band 3.5 years which i lost 7.5 st with but it had to be changed a year ago because of tube problems, it wasnt an issue really for me and i just seen it as part of the ups and downs that wls can bring, what happened to me was rare, so please do not worry.

i have now lost 8st 10llbs so far on my journey and i have no regrets what so ever, banding was the correct op choice for me as it suited my eating habbits/life style. my life has now changed for the better in many aspects not just physically but mentally to. wls is a life changing thing to go through but its far from an easy option to take, it can and does work with hard work and commitment, if we work hard with the tool given what ever the op maybe then the rewards are there for the taking.

i wish you all well on your own wls journeys what ever stage you may be personally at.

thanks for reading

Hi Liz Welcome to TT!
Do you know many other banders?
What happened to you is actually very common.
I had a band for 5 years. The port is still stuck to my stomach tissue.
They couldn't get it off

Congrats on all your success!! *hug*

When they removed the band, they made me a sleeve. It's a bit bigger than most sleeves cause the surgeons over here are very conservative and of course their plan is to add in the intestinal bypass to convert it to a switch after 100 lbs lost, but that's not my plan. =) I don't care if it takes longer to lose 200 lbs, I plan to sweat it all off.. exercise, water, and lots of protein. My body is stubborn and doesn't wanna let go of the fat, but eventually it has to hehe
