Nina1953 is on a distinguished road
Post Just discovered TT site.

Hi All,
My name is Nina and live in Delaware. I had been contemplating WLS for more than a year when I finally spoke to my PCP about it this past summer. She's very supportive. She put me in touch with Chrias and I have gone thru all the requirements that my insurance company set forth and now have a surgery date (Gastric Bypass) on January 14th 2010. WOW! I just realized it's only 10 WEEKS AWAY!

So far the only people who know about my upcoming surgery are my husband and a few very close friends. I also told one of my cousin's who has gone thru the surgery and to date, I believe has lost more than 90 pounds (since Nov 2008). Still haven't told either of my sons, or my mom. Although I know my mom worries about my weight/health and essentially want's me to be thinner, I think her knowing that I'm having major surgery in order to lose the weight will make her very uneasy. So I'm holding off as long as I can on telling her.

I've been sampling a bunch of different Protein shakes, both RTD and powdered and have been keeping track regarding which are keepers and which are not. :-)

I'm experiencing a combo of nerves and excitement. I'd appreciate any input on you're feelings with regard to your travel down this path. Thanks.
