Hi,
New to the boards, looking for a place to find information, support & overall discuss what I am about to endeavor.

I've been to the bariatric clinic 3x now, and see the surgeon on the 17th Nov. I know this surgeon personally, as I worked at the hospital, so I know he'll do an amazing job. My OR date has not been scheduled yet, but expected to be Dec/Jan... I'm having the Gastric Bypass.

I guess I'm just looking for info, what to expect, that kind of thing.
I'm currently 5'10", 295 lbs, 33yrs old.

I'm excited, but fearful all in the same.
Looking forward to getting some help/advice and meeting new people along the way.

I am sooo new here, I find that I almost dont know what I am doing!
I think I just posted in a whole new area. So, yeah- maybe I will get the hang of this, or someone can tell me something so I dont look so ridiculous! hehehe, I am just excited to see all the support and people openly talking about what to expect, what they went through, comments, concerns, advice, suggestions, etc..

Hello All,

Just wanted to introduce myself as I am new here.

This WHOLE experience is sooo new to me, I originally went to a seminar in early September just for some information, etc. Next I know someone is calling me and telling me what all I need in order to get 1 of the 2 procedures done. Anyway, to make this a very short story - the surgery scheduler is supposed to be calling me tomorrow to get the next steps in motion and I should be having surgery sometime in Dec.

I havent ever been on a 'thread' site and so, I dont really know what I am doing yet, but it was great that I found this place because I have read alot of what other ppl wrote. The whole reason for researching more stuff about the surgeries is because I was (and ALITTLE still am) EXTREMELY Nervous and overall scared to have the surgery. Did anyone else feel like this?? After seeing this site I feel alot better but you know- you never know, right?
Any information, comments, suggestions are welcome!
