75 lbs overweight and you are getting rny? what is the reason you hate your band?

My band has never controlled my appetite at all. It def slows down how much I can eat, but I never ever feel full, so just continually want to eat. I often get nauseous when I eat, but once the nausea passes, I just want to eat more. I usually have it very restricted because that's all that helps at all, but recently, I have been totally unable to keep it very restricted because the reflux got so bad. But most importantly, I never lost much weight. I will say that I didn't gain in the years I had it, so it obviously was somewhat effective. Now I have the band emptied and I am gaining rapidly. So my surgeon pointed out to me that it's not working for me. I really wouldn't have thought I was a candidate, but it was his suggestion.

I went to my PCP today and his answer to me was that my risk for complications are far greater if I remain overweight. He totally supported my possible decision. He also told me that his wife is getting banded next month as she was over 300 pounds and growing. I feel so much better now - just still am leaning towards the sleeve rather than the band. A little nervous about post op pain though as I do not handle that well. I also cannot take too much time off at work.
