Well, welcome to T.T. and congrats on getting your date for surgery set. The next 2 weeks will start out difficult because you are used to eating and chewing, but, believe me, after the first 3 or 4 days it will become easier and easier. Remember you are doing this to shrink your liver, wean yourself off sugar and snacks and to begin the weight loss process. You may get a headache (then again you may not), you may crave salt, sugar, etc (then again you may not), you will miss chewing and you will want to taste something other than vanilla and chocolate. Don't cheat because its really important to shrink that fatty liver - read Mistyme's posts to see why - cracked liver. Before you know it the 2 weeks will have flown by and you'll be recuperating. If you have questions or concerns, post them on here and this wonderful group of people will come to your aid. Its a wonderful place here at T.T. with wonderful people who are very happy to help.

Hi Claudia... welcome to Thinner Times.

My pre-op diet was 7 days and the first 3 to 4 were the hardest. I worked from home so it was even harder. I stayed busy. I stayed out of the kitchen. When I cooked, my son was the taste tester. The date was on the wall, the countdown was next to it. I just took it one-day-at-a-time and it was just one day closer to my lottery winnings.

Treat your pre-op diet as if your life depends on it. Mistymee is the best example of why you should not cheat this phase.

All the best,

Day 77: TTwo-terville - 53 lbs down
Day 188: Century Club - 100 lbs down
Day 366: 1 Year - 146 lbs down
Day 396: One-derland - 153 lbs gone forever! (my pic progression)

Starting BMI: 60.4 / Current BMI: 33.6

Nearly 16 TEN pound bowling balls down... OMG, let me pinch myself!

I don't want to know how much I have left to lose -- I find it encouraging to see how far I've come!
