Default Hello!

Hi, my name is Kat! I've been lurking on the forums for the past couple of days and decided to finally introduce myself. I'm 25 from Miami, FL and have got my gastric bypass surgery scheduled for Dec 2nd. Needless to say I'm so excited and nervous! I'm dreading the liquid diet the 2 wks before but reading about everyone's experiences on here and seeing their progress gives me a lot of hope. So I just wanna say thanks to all of you who take the time to share your stories because you are such an inspiration for newbies like me.

Thanks!

Hi Kat. Welcome to Thinner Times.

The liquid diet will be the hardest the first few days, but it will get better. Treat it as highly important, because that's what it is, a pre surgical preparation to shrink your liver and give you the best post-op outcome and healing possible.

You don't have your weight stats up, so I don't know where you stand or what your goal is, BUT you have your young age on your side and all the stamina that comes with being young. Truly you should succeed post-op, but FIRST, it's the pre-op preparation that counts. Don't dread the pre-op diet, just do it. Overcome it and become the support for another who will follow in your shoes. "It's no big deal," you'll say. "I thought it would be hard, but I just took it one-day-at-at time, and suddenly it was the day of my surgery."

Good luck,

Nearly 16 TEN pound bowling balls down... OMG, let me pinch myself!

I don't want to know how much I have left to lose -- I find it encouraging to see how far I've come!
