I was referred to Suny Upstate Dr. Taiwan Kim for WLS and I was recently researching and I think I would do much better with getting the Sleeve. BUT i dont think there are any surgeons or hospitals Upstate here in syracuse NY that do that as of yet so my question is do I have to go there or can i be referred to somewhere else that does offer the sleeve surgery or would my insurance interfere with that?

Have you checked to make sure your insuarance to make sure they cover the sleeve? Most dont as of yet but i know that is slowly changing. Also depending if you have HMO or PPO if you would need the referral or not.
