I called my surgeons office today and they still have not sent all the paperwork into the insurance company. The girl I talked to today said she should have everything tomorrow and Aetna is quick to turn around with a reply.

She had to ask Trueresults to send my psych eval. She also mentioned to me that they didn't send the 2 year history from my PCP either. I wonder why Trueresults didn't send them everything?? I gave her the number to the ref. coordinator at my PCP to maybe speed things up in that direction. I am just a little annoyed.

I was ready to have this surgery a long time ago. I would say I feel like the brat that has to wait till x-mas to open gifts, but I don't even have a date. For all I know x-mas could be postponed till January. DANG IT!

Hang in there! Vent all you need to though!

It seems like it takes forever to get someone else to do what you could have done yesterday doesn't it?!

I know it's tough to wait on them to get it done, but it's better they get it in right than get half in and you be turned down.

Once I was approved through my insurance, they asked me if I wanted surgery the following week!! They can usually get you in quickly so continue thinking your date is around Christmas and preparing yourself for that time frame. I bet it will happen for you!

Seriously, I'm sorry they are dragging you along. I admit I'm just starting my journey. But thing that I know about the health care field is:

Unfortunately, you are not their only patient. So there are many others trying to do the same thing.

Talking between offices can be very difficult. Not everyone has the same agenda that they do.

I really hope that the process goes quickly. I often find if you show up at the office or call daily (or hourly,haha) that it lights a fire under their butts. (And don't feel guilty about doing that. This is your health, your body, your life not theirs!)

I had my first appointment in March 2009. Didn't get my approval until October 1st, but my surgery is tomorrow. It does seem to take some time but hang in there.

Breathe...relax....

I got my approval September 24th and my surgery isn't until December 1st. So, even more waiting on my part.... I know what you mean. Just remember, you ARE going to do this and ARE going to have surgery and soon you're going to be whiney and going through the "why did i do thissssssss" phase, so when you do look back on this thread and giggle!
