**Update in post 7**

Hello all! This website is wonderful!! Thank you to all the wonderful posters. I've actually been here a few times over the last couple of years. But just didn't think I would qualify for WLS. And I'm still not sure....

Hello, My name is..... and I am a social eater.
I'm also:
A military spouse. I'm husband is currently serving in Iraq. And we are stationed at Ft. Sam in San Antonio, Tx. (I see there is a ton of military here. I find that very interesting.)
A mother. We have three girls. Age 17, 13, and 11.
A midwifery student. Yes, I help deliver babies. And I'm loving every minute of it!
I'm a breast cancer survivor. I have the BRACA 1 gene. And have had a radical mastectomy and total hysterectomy almost 10 years ago.

I have lots of questions. And I'm trying to figure out where to post them all. I have already used the advance search engine and had many of my questions answered. I also have read many of the threads in the things to know section.

Please be patient with me as if figure everything out. I have finally made an appointment to talk with my Primary Provider at BAMC for Friday. I need courage because I have had this intent many times.

I am an Air Force wife in Ohio. We lived in San Antonio last year and loved it. I miss it so much. I have my 1 on 1 with my surgeon on Thursday. I getting my sx done on base, are you? Good luck and keep us updated!

Hum... Again, I'm not really sure where to post some of my questions.

Most of them have to do with being a previous cancer patient and menopausal issues. Should I ask them here or is there a specific section I should be asking them in?

I am new to this too. I would start by searching and see what you find. If not then just find a topic that has something to do with it and post.

I've already done the searches. I'm not really finding anything under these subjects. And I'm not sure what subject to put it under.... any suggestions??

Maybe ask the Dr. or post under the gen. ?'s for the surgery you are having.

My nutrition appointment is Dec. 16. Had one for earlier in the month but it was changed. ARG

And got my Bariatric initial appointment for Nov. 20. I am just thrilled.

So I feel like I'm on the road now. I have no idea what they are going to require of me or how long this road may be but it is a start. I feel like Dorothy just starting to follow the yellow brick road. I may run into road blocks along the way, but I know were the path leads and there is a rainbow at the end.

So glad you have gotten the ball rolling! It is always such a relief just to get those appointments on the books and know you are on the right path!

Group meeting with surgeon on 10/26/09, meeting went great!! Sounds promising so far!
Psych eval on 11/5/09-AWESOME eval, when I left she said "You are going to do great with this surgery!" YAY ME!!
Nutritionist on 11/20/09-Wonderful appointment, lots of info!
Appointment with the surgeon December 1, 2009! WOO HOO!
