Default Hi Everyone

Hello Everybody,
I'm new to this site. I'm looking for info and input on weight loss surgery. I recently submitted an application for the WLS program at Duke Medical Center. This surgery has been recommended to me several times by my neurologist at Duke. I have Pseudotumor Cerebi...a condition that is no joke! Horrible headaches, increased spinal fluid pressures, vision disturbances, and loss of balance are things I deal with daily. The doctor thinks that losing a lot of weight can greatly improve this condition or bring about total remission...I'm hoping that it will be completely resolved! Lol!
I look forward to sharing my adventure to a better, healthier me with all of you!

Welcome to Thinner Times, Dear and congratulations on beginning your journey.

My edema, sleep apnea and constant headaches have disappeared. In the last 18 months I've had 2 headaches and non of the migraine type which always forced me into a dark room with a cold compress for 3 hours, of which I used to have about 6 times a year.

WLS can help in a variety of ways, and for me, it's been totally life-changing ins so many ways.

All the best,

Nearly 16 TEN pound bowling balls down... OMG, let me pinch myself!

I don't want to know how much I have left to lose -- I find it encouraging to see how far I've come!
