Unhappy 3 weeks post op gastric bypass, need advice.

Hello everyone. I had my gastric bypass 3 weeks and 2 days ago. Everything seemed fine until 2 weeks post op and then my stomach acid started acting up like crazy, also my stomach's always making this growling noise. I've also started experiencing nausea after I eat. Not all foods cause it, its quite random. On top of that I get a rush of saliva into my mouth with the sensation I'm going to vomit. I have to hover over the toilet and spit this out because if i try and swallow it down I feel even worse. I haven't actually been sick yet, but its a really unpleasant sensation. I were wondering if anybody else has had this problem and how long its likely to go on for.

Hi Kelly. Welcome to Thinner Times.

Have you contacted your surgeon's office about these symptoms? I'm just wondering if it's possible either stricture or you can't tolerate fat of any kind (yet).

Let us know how you're doing (and I'll bump this up so that it may be addressed again).

Can I ask what you are trying to eat?

Hi Kelly

I'm sorry that you are experiencing this. I don't have an answer; I just wanted you to know that people are reading this and are concerned. I'm about two and a half weeks post-op and I have not experienced anything like this. However, if I DID experience this, I would definitely call my surgeon's office. We can all try to assist you, but if it is during office hours, I would definitely call. Also, my mom (who is a nurse) always says that if you are feeling nauseous, to just let yourself throw up if you have to. Personally, I hate to throw up, but she says you may be surprised and feel better afterward. I don't know if this will help you, but I definitely will be checking to find out what the problem is. Keep us posted.

Welcome to TT. I'm sure someone may be able to suggest something to you, but I'd suggest you contact your doctor to give yourself peace of mind.
