I've only posted a couple of times, but I have lurked on this site for months. I started back in June with all my pre-op classes/appts, and I am having surgery on 11/9/09. Right now I am on Optifast for the time before my surgery; not fun but I can do it.

It's so great to be able to read about people along the continuum of this journey!

Well, I'm not sure if they don't go through it they can completely understand. Although my family is very supportive, they have expressed their concerns. Ultimately they understand that I live with all of the issues I have now and possibly add to them if I don't get the surgery OR I could have the surgery and live a better quality life.
