i was denied about 3-4 months ago but have not given up my dream to be healthy and thin. Does anyone know or have been approved by getting financed by someone? any help would be awsome thx

Why were you denied? Did you appeal?

As far as financing goes, many surgeons will direct you toward financing companies that they work with. I know of one company called Care Credit. Basically you get like a credit card that can be used for medical expenses. Not all doctors take it, you have to ask if they do. My partner has it and used it to pay for a root canal. Our vet also takes it. Isn't that funny? We used it to pay for our cat's hip surgery.

thx poet Kelly. I was denied by UHC due to the fact that i did not have a hx of a bmi of 40 for 5 consecutive years. They never told me i had to have 5 years of a 40 bmi just that i need hx for 5 years of being overweight. I was/am so devestated that i just quit chasing the dream but never silenced it so i really want to have it done and am looking in to other options as far as self pay by financing.

Oh. That is a pretty common requirement, actually. Some insurance companies only require a two year history, but many do require five. Good luck with financing.

I was also going to suggest that you try care credit...How many years have you been over a bmi for 40 or more?..I have UHC Chioce Plus and i was told that you just have to prove that you didn't get over weight over night...My surgeon office just faxed my info. last thursday..If i get approved I wil let you know..My bmi has been 40 or more the last 4years not 5..I would also appeal..
