Smile Hello Everyone

I saw the Bariatric Surgeon on 7/21/09 and finished all the evaluations and they are seeking approval from my BCBS Federal plan. I am optimistic because weight loss will hopefully relieve my diabetes, and my hypertension. I am glad that I found this website and I look forward to getting to know you folks. I have been heavy always -in the between times I have lost whole people and gained them back. I am 5ft tall and weigh 204 the doctor told me my ideal would be 105 which seems like a miracle would have to happen. Thanks Diann

I am one month out this coming Monday. It has rid me of my cholesterol problems so far. I am hoping it will rid my sleep apnea, thyroid problems, and high blood pressure.
Good luck!

Hi Diann - Welcome!
I just had my surgery 10 days ago.. and am already off meds for diabetes and 1 of my BP medications. Hoping to be off of med for cholesterol soon as well! I also have BCBS (but a National plan) - didn't have any problems at all w/obtaining approval since I had high BP and diabetes. Hopefully you will not have a problem obtaining approval as well.

Hello Diann! Wecome to TT! It's a great place with lots of awesome people ready to help! Good luck with the insurance process, hope it's a speedy one for you!
This surgery does work miracles! I'm off of all meds for high cholesteral, high BP, heart, diabetes and being told I'll soon be off of my PCOS meds too! Sleep Apnea is way better , being re-evaluated for that soon, no more hip or knee pain either! Would do it all again in an instant!
