Default hello

Hi, my name is Susan and I live in Cleveland, Tn. My surgery date is Oct. 5 at Vanderbilt. I am very excited and not at all scared. Would love to hear about some of your experiences.

Hi Susan... welcome to Thinner Times... Your TT is right around the corner in less than a month. CONGRATULATIONS on your journey.

My story is a bit bumpy from lapband to RNY, the former with complications, the RNY with a breeze and a minor hiccup.

My weight loss has been glorious and I relish every single day I bound up and down stairs in seconds where pre-op I'd have to hold on to the hand rail for dear life worrying that I'd fall down, or not make it up; that I stand for more than 3 minutes because I couldn't stand pre-op; And every single time I take my dog out for a walk, because walking is what I couldn't do pre-op. Yes, there's more that I'm grateful for. It's really been a total life change/transformation for me, and it isn't over yet.

For me, what it boiled down to, was to enjoy life again and not look forward to death.

I wish you all the changes you know you want, and lot's of great surprises in the many, many years to come.

Day 188: Century Club - 100 lbs down
Day 366: 1 Year - 146 lbs down
Day 396: One-derland - 153 lbs gone forever! (my pic progression)

Starting BMI: 60.4 / Current BMI: 33.6

Nearly 16 TEN pound bowling balls down... OMG, let me pinch myself!

I don't want to know how much I have left to lose -- I find it encouraging to see how far I've come!
