Thank you so much! My husband is very supportive - but my mom and sister keep telling me that I'm crazy to be doing this. I know it's just because their concerned for me - and that they don't know enough about it. I've asked them to come to a meeting with me to hear other people but they've declined. I've decided the only way to show them that I'm definitely doing the right thing is to just do it - and when they see how much healthier and happier I'll be they'll know that I made the right decision

by the way Sue--my in-laws live in Florida. I love experiencing the seasons and being in R.I. - but by being able to visit them I feel I have the best of both worlds!
Thanks so much for everyone's kind words!

Hi Helena -
so glad to hear you're off your blood pressure and diabetic medication! That is certainly a goal of mine. I've been told I might not be able to go off the BP meds completely (have been on them since a teenager, even before I was overweight) - but definitely can say good bye to diabetes!

Would you have any suggestions for the first week or so out of surgery, for preparing? I've mixed up some soups w/chicken in my magic bullet - and froze them in ice cube trays since I heard that was a good way to have mini portions already set up. But I didn't want to buy too much in advance since some people say taste changes so much?
thanks again!
Doreen

Thanks Marella!
I know it's not going to be an easy road for a while - but looking at how happy most people are with such positive results is keeping me very motiviated!

Dorreen, I suggest you visit Vitalady.com - Protein Supplements, Vitamins & Minerals, and Safe Snacks! and order some samples of different protein drinks for after your surgery. Just get the sample sizes so you can try several different ones and see what you like. Then you can stock up.

Kelly
