Hi all! My name is Angela and I am 28 yrs old. I am scheduled for RNY surgery July 27, 2009 (just under a month away- yay!). I am really excited to have found this forum. From the looking I've done I've found some great information. I look forward to getting to know everyone better and continuing on this journey with all of you!

Glad u found us ... Good luck with your forth coming surgery and your new lighter life ...
Wls is no miracle cure but without my tool (lap band) I couldnt have got where I am today and I still would like to loose about another 30 pound ...
Keep reading and educating yourself on the surgery ...

first fill 24.11.08 =6.5cc

Second fill 29.01.09=1 ml

10ml band filled to 7.5 ml ....

I love my band ! 5 stone gone thats 70 pounds

Awaiting third much needed fill ......

Congrats on your upcoming WLS! I'm 4+ years out, but I have still found the folks here to be the nicest, most supportive group online -- so I'm sure you'll *really* benefit from their knowledge pre-op! (Wish I'd had y'all!)

I see that you're from Texas -- whereabouts? I'm waaay down here in McAllen.

Trying so hard to get back on track, face that I can't do it alone, stop beating myself up for my failings... UPDATE: Well, after the 7 lb. drop last week, this week I didn't lose *anything*. Didn't gain, but it's discouraging.

Hi there! I'm from a small town that is equally between San Antonio and Corpus Christi called George West- it's in the middle of no where! Where did you have your surgery? I'm having mine in Victoria.

I know George West very well, from our trips to SA! We like a steak place there, it's next to a motel.

I had mine locally, a surgeon in McAllen, but I chose to do it at the smaller hospital in Mission.

Victoria's a pretty far drive, isn't it? Any reason you didn't choose Corpus or SA?

That is actually one of my favorite places to eat here in town, one of the few that's not fast food anyway.

Victoria isn't that far. It's an hour and a half to get there and that's not much farther than Corpus and to get to the north side of San Antonio, it's at least that far. My mother-in-law had her surgery with this Dr and it's a Center of Excellence, she's done well.

Thanks everyone for the welcome! I'm really excited about this journey. I'm also nervous but I know that I'm doing the right thing for myself and my kids. I'm very aware of the complications that can occur when you don't listen to your Dr, my sister in law had this done several years ago and her story has left me with a healthy respect for following Dr's orders. I know I'm still going to have to do the work, that the Dr isn't waiving a magic wand over me and making the lbs melt away that he's using a scalpel and arming me with a tool, which if used correctly can add many precious years to my life. My Mom had a heart attack at 45 and both of my grandmothers had diabetes and died of congestive heart failure in their 60's, currently I don't have diabetes but I do have hypertension and I know that's what I'm looking at if I don't do something now.

I'm so happy to have found all of you! Thanks again for the welcome, I look forward to getting to know all of you better!
