Default hi again -all consuming!

Hi,
I just started this board a few days ago. I am really enjoying it and have a question - now that I am sure this is what I want I am going crazy thinking about it all the time, worrying about the insurance, if I will get approved, how long it will take, will it ever actually happen now that I want it so bad. Did anyone else feel like this when they started the process?
I just haven't wanted something like this in so long I am afraid it won't come to fruition.
thanks for letting me get it off my chest (which hopefully will be much smaller in time to come).
Julia

Hi Julia,
I was turned down twice before I got to have it..
I just didn't jump thru all the hoops properly..
It wasn't until I did a sleep study, high blood pressure, high colesterole and had an artificial partial knee implant that they finally approved...
I had all these things but just didn't send them to my insurance..
So what I'm saying...get your ducks in order..
Get anything and everything together the first time out so you dont get denied..
Hope this helps...
Good Luck to you..

thanks for that, I am really trying to do that but it is tempting to try to push through the mandatory nutrition time, I have been doing WW and going to my doctor monthly so it seems like I should not have to start that ticker from day one. But I guess I should to make sure it goes through.

HI and welcome. Tell your primary doctor what you are doing. Make sure you are documented as trying to lose weight. Your primary doctor has to be on board for any of it to count toward the insurance requirement. Jumping through the hoops correctly will take so much stress out of the process for you. Take it one step at a time, that's the only way to get thru it, and really, when you look at your whole life ahead, 6 months isn't really all that long. Good luck!

Smile the beginning jitters

Just stay positive! Insurance companies are now wanting us consumers to stay healthier longer so it reduces their over head to take care of the illnesses that come with being obese. So, you have that on your side when it comes to approvals. My take on insurance is what else would they say? "No, we eant you sto stay huge so you can rack up big expenses as we see you all year long year after year with diabetes, heart failure, bad bones, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, and the list goes on. I say - KEEP THE FAITH! It will be approved!!!!

thanks so much for your positive attitude!! It really helps during the stressful times. It is wonderful to have a place to say this out loud because it is really something a lot of people just can't understand. I have told as few people around me as possible because I don't want the negatives to start in. You all have helped me feel good about this process as I lurked for a few weeks before introducing myself.
