My wife Jane and I went through it together too. It is really nice having a live-in support group.

Best wishes to you both!

welcome to T-T Nessa (and Brian)!! How great of you guys pursuing the surgery together! It would enable you to better understand what each other is going through...plus, as Squishy said, having a live-in support system sounds quite nice!

Goood luck to both of you as you embark on your weight-loss journeys! Keep us updated!

Personally, I think it is much wiser to have it done a few weeks apart, at least, in case one of you has complications. I wish you both the best of luck going forward.. (And if it were me and my hubby, I'd want him to go first, since men lose so darn fast. That way, I wouldn't be bummed when he surpassed me in the lbs lost... otherwise, he might just zip right by me which would be SO annoying! lol. If he were first then there wouldn't be any leaving me in the dust.

We were fine, by the time we came home from the hospital we were able to take care of ourselves. I had family incase we needed them, but we didn't. We did have our teenaged son helping out with the other two kiddos (our three year old stayed at my mom's for almost the first week, so it was really just my teenager and my 10 year old). Both boys went to school and came home each day while we were home alone. We both had very easy recovery periods. We had surgery on Tuesday and came home on Thursday. By Monday, I was feeling good enough to go back to work; however, I waited until my drain came out one week post op to go back.

Some people on here had major complications and had a much harder time, so take my experience and theirs with a grain of salt and make the best decision for yourself.

We wanted to do this together so we would be on the liquid diet together and be at the same stage of eating so we would have that support system in place. It has been great, he has lost more than me, but oh well!

ok we went to the seminar and we liked this doctor.

we especially liked that he thinks a 'former fatty' should not have a BMI below 25 (unless their body wants to be lower)....

his staff will call tomorrow and set up our consult appointments. maybe as early as monday!
