I haven't really looked around the site, but I thought I would say hello and introduce myself.
My name is Wendy and I'm 25 years old. I'm a wife, a mother and a full-time student. I have struggled with weight my entire life. My boys are getting older, are very active, and into sports. I am tired of being a sideline parent. I want to be able to play baseball with them at the park without having to stop to rest.
In May 2008, I peaked the scale at 278 lbs. I live my life for my children, so I was very angry with myself for not taking better care of my health. I spoke to my doctor, and although weight loss surgery was never an option for me, I agreed to keep an open mind. I attended a symposium and got to meet my potential surgeons and hear testimonies from actual patients. I also attended and completed my six month nutrition program. I lost 13lbs. I received notice just this week that my request for the psyche evaluation was approved, so that is scheduled for March 6th, but I might be rescheduled if a slot opens up sooner than said date. I'm not sure what comes next after the psyche evaluation. I have researched both the Roux en Y and Lap Band procedures, however, I am still quite unsure which procedure I will opt for...assuming I decide to go ahead with the weight loss surgery.
I have only spoken about the procedure with my husband and my parents, and they all express the same opinion as myself. That I'm young. That I can lose the weight on my own. However, I want to enjoy my children now, while they are still young...so...they are being understanding and supportive.
...I'm not sure what else to include in my introduction...
Can't wait to get to know everyone.

Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day!
Wendy
