Sweetie, my primary care doctor wasn't in favor of my having the surgery and I had to impress him with the research I had done. Might I suggest you ask on the thread that Dr. Callery replies to, as he can give you the physician's perspective on your question. Good luck and welcome to TT!

I'm sorry for replying so late. New Life, could you possibly link me to the right forum? I'm not too sure how to find him. I'll for sure take notes and everything, now that I've heard other people have done the same. :] Thank you all for the suggestions. It's going to be so helpful in the end, I'm sure.

Hi and Welcome!! If you go to the main thread page and scroll down, you will see a section called "Ask Dr. Callery". There are already a lot of good questions and answers. Another place to go is the main website: Thinner Times - Gastric bypass, Lap Band, and other weight loss surgery and click around on those pages where there are descriptions of the surgeries, the pros and cons, some quizzes to see if you understand them, etc.

My PCP is near retirement and he was 100% behind me in my decision for surgery, so it really just depends on the doctor. You are definately a good candidate, so don't be scared! Just be confident and adamant about it and you should be fine!!

Good luck!!!!
