Hi Carolyn. Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you have joined us. While you are awaiting your insurance approval take this time to learn all you can. I honestly feel that the more you are prepared ahead of time the better you will do on the other side.
Don't let the nerves get to you. We all had them. The choice of surgery is a huge choice but it is also a life changing and life saving choice. Like you I held off on my decision for several years. In those years, like you the co-morbidities added up. I couldn't go on living like that. Thankfully, I don't have to because ALL of my co-morbidities are now gone.
This surgery is a wonderful gift, so cherish and embrace the opportunity.
