Hi there,
I have just finished my orientation with Kaiser Fremont and now am waiting to be scheduled for my first appointment. I was all gunho for the Lap band, but have now changed my mind and am going for the RNY. I have a very supportive husband. My friends are telling me know, but I think it is because of all the horror stories. Still have yet to tell my Mom the nurse, I value her opinion so much, but just need her to support me right now.
Sooo.....I am doing a lot of research on these boards, and can't wait until I can get back to feeling like me. It's been 20 years since that has happened.

I was the exact same way as you, ready for lapband but night of seminar changed my mind. People will reject it at first, but know in your heart that its the decision best for you. My mom was scared a little, my sister didnt want me to do it at all, and the rest of my fam was just shocked but supportive. Good luck!

Current: 208 lbs 33.6 BMI (omg.. finally below 40!)
1st Goal: 250 lbs (The weight on my id's!! LOL) CHECK!!!!!!

Surgeons goal:150 lbs (appearently i am big boned

Down 135 lbs since 1/13!

I have to do an orientation, see the surgeon, psych, lose 10% of my weight, see the nutritionist, and some labs (including a sleep lab). I believe I have already been approved based on my BMI and recommendation from my PCP.
