Hi cowgurl! Welcome to the forum. Sounds as if you had a bit of a rough start but I'm glad to see your attitude is good. Like you have read it isn't unusual to have put on a few pounds while in the hospital, especially after a double surgery. They pump ALOT of fluid into you during your hospitalization and it isn't unusual for your body to kind of hang on to that fluid for awhile. So don't worry, the pounds will start coming off as long as you follow your docs rules for yourself.

Your surgery was on my Surgiversary! I remember walking the halls at the hospital and stepping onto a scale I found... I was ^UP^ 8 pounds! It happens... a week after the surgery I was down those 8 plus 5 more! It'll happen.... just follow the rules.

WELCOME to the LOSERS BENCH!

Its normal. I was so pumped full of fluids i gained te pounds during my hospital stay. But was so glad after i got home and had trouble getting in my liquids. At least my body had something to run on while i got my desire back to put anything past my lips. You will be fine. Good luck.

Thank you so much Mi Lady for the warm welcome...I have already been inspired by you and a few other people on here reading your posts and recipes!

Congratulations to you Toony on your 100 mark !
Way to GO!!!

Thank you tygrysku, LOL all that fluid and they still wanted us to drink a gallon of water!

Today is day 7 and even tho I haven't been weighed I feel 10 lbs.
lighter!
The soreness is just about gone along with a lot of the swelling..
I am a diehard on the rules so not to worry bout that!
Today I actually get to start on puree but skipped my breakfast for a protein drink, but will have some low fat cottage cheese for lunch...

Thank you all so much for the well wishes, I truly appreciate them!

Hi Learning To Be Me...
I had some bend in my intestines or something like that...
I wasn't able to keep any liquids down, it was more scary then
anything..
Today 7 days later I feel like a NEW WOMAN!!!
As a matter of fact I worked all day..
I was able to start puree foods but still haven't...no reason other
then I want to make sure I get 70 grams of protein in first..
I'm at 71 right now but not hungry....Protein does that to you.

Thank you sweetie for the reply..
Keep me posted and if you have any questions for a newbie as to what it's like in the beggining stages I'm here for ya!
