Default one month away, thought I'd say Hey...

Hi, I'm Jason and am in my final 30+ days of pre-op. I'll be getting an RNY with Dr. Gagne in Pittsburgh. I'm a bit nervous at this point and it seems that i'm surrounded by nay sayers and all the bad stories. I look to boards like this for some of the good news and to be reminded of what i'll become after the surgery.

I blog semi-frequently at Random Thoughts and Tribulations and will be updating my profile here.

Thanks for the board! Oh, and the quinoa recipes. I'll be adding some of my own, and a some for Amaranth too. Seems these are very palatable, and easily digestible foods for post op...

More later, it's bed time

Welcome to T-T Jayd4wg!! And YAY for your upcoming surgery! These 30 days will fly by! Try not to focus on all the negative stories...it seems that people will say anything to make you regret your decision...I know I had my share of pessimistic people! But its SOOOo worth it in the end! Goood luck to you duude!

Hi Jayson, I'm 3 weeks out and I hear a lot of "are you sure you want to do this". The answer is no, I'd rather eat myself to death. I hear where your coming from. Good luck.

Jason,

Good luck!

I, too, am in the final weeks of waiting. My surgery is set for March 2, here in Rochester, NY.

Keep in touch!

Bob

Hi Jason, and welcome to Thinner Times.

Hey, we're neighbors! Well, almost...I live down in Mt. Pleasant. I had my surgery at Magee.

Don't let the negative people get you down. This surgery used to be extremely dangerous, and that's what people remember. Once the pounds start falling off you, people will change their tune.

Like i said, i'm having mine with Dr. Gagne at West Penn. Seems to be the only place my insurance would cover. I'll have to check into the vacation thing with work though. I think my short term only kicks in after my vacation is used up.
