Default Welcome Joan

Hi Joan, and welcome to the very best site on the net for WLS support.

Congratulations on your wonderful success! You must feel so good with that weight off your joints and starting to see just how great your tool is now that you've gotten on the "loser's bench." (It's what we call people after surgery.)

The forum has a great option to search threads on issues you may wonder or worry about, so have at it! And like you've already done, visit the photo gallery of the members. It's encouraging and also helps you to feel connected to people who are at the same stage as you are. Oh, and don't forget to take pictures of yourself as you progress down! You'll be so happy that you did it once you reach your goal.

Welcome kat. The only thing I can think of, if you're able, is to switch up your exercise routine. Maybe change it entirely or make it more intense.

I'm very, very pre-op though so others may have better suggestions.

Default another newbie .. a scared one

Am about to face the big day on 9 Feb., and read all your posts avidly, hoping I will get away with the milder post op effects and benefit from the amazing initial weight loss everyone has experienced, and the feeling of well being everyone seems to experience once the initial phase of testing your pouch is over ..... I dread the thought of throwing up or the dreaded dumping syndrome but I guess its the only thing that acts like an internal checks and balancing system... good luck to all those facing this mega event ...

Angry going through exact same thing

Hi I am going through the same thing but like I posted earlier the only things I can keep down are fruit roll ups, licorice, and those blueberry special k bars...it's awful, I know, and has caused much depression but when I've tried to eat the tuna or eggs etc...I get horrible spasms and throw up....what to do???

Hi Elizabeth, You didn't mention how long ago, or which surgery you had. Have you spoken with your surgeon about the inability to eat protein? I am having a gastroscope Dec 8 for the exact same thing. My surgeon want to see if there is a stricture down there making it hard (or close to impossible) to swallow and keep down chicken/meat/tuna etc. I don't have much trouble with the protein shakes - are you able to drink them?
