Default Hello from California...Tuesday is the day!!

hi everyone. i am having gastric by pass surgery tuesday at st joes. dr quilici is my dr. in burbank, california. i am from detroit and my whole family is there. i married a man from here and i have been here almost 3 years. i go back and forth a lot to see my children and 8 grand children...anyway...my point is my daughter surprised me today. she came in to be with me for my surgery. i have never been so surprised in my life. she had surgery nov. 17th in detroit and is doing awesome....... so she left her husband and 2 children to be with me...so i am really happy today...and that is why i am trying to make this short. so my name is judye and i am 62 years old. i have been fat my whole life...up and down....up and down. when the dr asked me my wieght in high school and when i got married and at different times...i just said..heavy ..heavier...less heavy..etc. so this is my last shot. i am so happy to be able to do this. i was diagnosed with diabetes in september and my dr. said as long as i was having the surgery i didnt need to go on medication as it would be reversed. how great is that???? so tomorrow is the yukky bowel prep and tueday i begin my "new birthday" . i will keep you posted..i am so grateful for sights like this..i know the support will be invaluable to me.

thank you for listening...and being there.

Sounds like you have an awesome daughter! I pray the best of health for you, your surgery and beyond. Truly looking forward to reading about your return home and the start of your new life.

Nearly 16 TEN pound bowling balls down... OMG, let me pinch myself!

I don't want to know how much I have left to lose -- I find it encouraging to see how far I've come!
