Talking Hello from PA!

Hi all! Newbie here from PA- just north of Pittsburgh (grew up in Cols., OH, and have lived in Cincinnati and Philly also)!

I'm a 49 yr. old married mom of 3; DD graduating from IUP in Spring, DS1 graduating HS Spring and will be attending PSU main campus fall, DS2 is in 7th grade. I'm a professional dieter...lost 40-50 pounds or more many times (although that gets harder with age), I'm just hoping the LB will be the tool I need to help me keep it off.

I'm about to start my 3rd month of the oh-so-wonderful-to-do-yet-another 6 month diet (where I can't lose more than a few pounds since I'm already close to the minimum BMI of 35...crazy insurance-BCBS Highmark PPO Blue). I've got my surgeons consult and the psych visit coming up in a week, so I'm gathering my questions (like is the 6 mo. diet include 7 PCP visits-full 6 mo. or 6 PCP visits-5 mo.). I've selected AGH (hospital) for Lap Band (they offer this and the Realize one both, but I'm leaning toward the LB at this point) after attending 3 different hospital seminars.

Hi ALL!

Hi! Sounds like you're ahead of me. I'm just now starting on my journey. Attended the seminar back in Nov. Liked what I heard and who I met. Finally sent in my papers this past Monday and got a call to come in the first time on Jan. 14!

Good luck!!!!
