Default Excited, Yet Scared

Hi Everyone!

So Far I Like What I See On This Site And Look Forward To Sharing My Experiences With You.

I Have Decided To Have The Gastric Bypass Around September. I Am Really Scared. I Have Been Through A Lot These Past Few Years And This Will Be My First "major" Operation; Although It Will Be My Fourth In Three Years. I Had A Bout With A Rare Type Of Fallopian Tube Cancer. It Was Treated With Chemotherapy And Although I Am In Remission I Am Considered Cured - I Am A Survivor! And My Drs Say There Is No Problem With Having The Surgery. Has Anyone Lost Their Hair? I Lost All My Hair During The Chemo - And I Pray I Won't Lose It Again! I Am 270 Lbs Now And Look Forward To Being 110! Good Luck To All!!!!!

Welcome Lori -

Try not to capitalize all your words, it makes reading a little tough. I am new to the board also but I have been on automobile message boards for years. I am about to attempt my journey into another healthier life also.

Hi Lori!

Nice to meet you. Congratulations on what you have done so far!! I am so happy for you! Congrats also on your decision to have Gastric Bypass - You will no doubt enter another new journey in your life. Personally, I never did lose any hair and I am not sure what to attribute it to. I know I was very good at getting all of my protein in and taking my vitamins daily and I am sure that helped. Everyone is different so it is hard to say what your experience will be.

I look forward to hearing about your experiences. Hope to "see" you around the boards.

welcome. Glad you decided to have the bypass. I also will have the bypass , but I have to wait till Dec. because thats what my Insurance wants, but thats fine. Good luck with everything and keep posting. from the homework that I have done, most of the people lose some but not all,( go thin, but go back)
