Post Hello and thank you for being here

Hi, I am here to introduce myself. I had my rny gbp on 5/13/08 and had a complication with bowel obstruction from an adhesion that needed to be operated on approximately 3 weeks later. The 2nd surgery went much easier than the rny. I had to go back to liquid diet and then due to swelling had to stay on the liquid diet so am still in a learning curve as to what and how much I can eat. I am foaming with lots of nausea and find it very difficult to drink water and afraid of eating or drinking everything else. I try to keep pushing myself. I am tired and feel depleted probably due to the lack of protien and calories. Having trouble motivating myself for exercise due to the tiredness. I also just don't feel good. Weird. Hopefully this will pass with time.

Thanks for listening. Just a little more about me. I am 5'8", Top weight 308. I have lost and gained weight so many times over the years and I want this to be the last time I have to lose weight. Weight prior to surgery was 299. Lowest I ever weighed(as an adult) was 155 in 2005. My goal at this time is 160.

Thanks again and take care, Dawn

Hi Dawn,
Welcome to TT.. I'm sure the trouble getting fluids and protein in are one cause of your tiredness.. and the fact that your body is healing from not one, but two major surgeries doesn't help in that regard! You've been through a LOT the last month or so..

You've come to the right place for moral and emotional support though..

Have you talked to your doctor about the continued foaminess? That seems a bit unsettling to me.

Hi,

Oh boy do I know the "I feel like crap" phrase. I am lets see 6 weeks now after surgery. I still have "days" that are not so great. I am eating soft foods and if I exercise too much I get nasuated. I still have some trouble eating chicken. All I can say is rest as much as possiable, drink as much fluids (water, protein ect.) as you can. I still have trouble with the 64oz. I try to get in 3 16.9 oz bottles of water a day. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks so much for the support and encouragement. My doctor is out of town at a big bariatric conference in DC. Today there is to be a march on the capitol for obesity awareness. Hope it makes the news.

I am eating a little more and yesterday was my first day back at work since surgery. I am sure glad we weren't crazy busy but it was good to be back.

Take Care, Dawn
