Default Newbie here!

Hey Everyone!!! Well I have been doing research and came across this site. It is great, so I figured I would sign up instead of just lurking the boards. I have my first appointment this coming Tuesday for blood work and to meet with the nurse and head of the program. I am excited.

I am 27 years old. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I topped out at 275lbs back in Dec 06 and I was able to get down to 225lbs this past feb, but I have falling back to 245lbs. It seems to be a never ended cycle. I want to do it. I just need a little help.

I wish everyone the best of luck and hopefully you will see more of me around!

Hello and welcome to the forum! I think that you will find a lot of information on these pages as well as some really nice people. I had gastric bypass surgery on April 1st and I am down 59 lbs. all together. I feel great and am very happy with my success. I had a rough time with it at first, as far as the emotional side goes. But, I am doing great now that I am able to eat normal foods. I think that it is wonderful that you are having this now that you are young! You will do so well and your skin will have better elasticity than us older (ahem!) folks! I wish you luck with your surgery and look forward to seeing you on the loser's bench!

"People will argue with you that getting what you want in life isn’t something you can learn, if you’re destined to be one of the worlds winners as opposed to one of its perpetual whiners, its because you have been born with the right talents and temperament and have a big dose of self-esteem, ambition, and good judgment."
