Default Yes another newbie here

Hi you wonderful brave people.
I was directed to this site by someone who had the GBP and was very happy with her results and she said she got lots of support here.

I am a sahm to 6 children.Im 31 and I am very much over weight I am at 287 right now and im barely 5'2.I have type 2 diabities, raised blood pressure(I say raised because it isnt high blood pressure yet.)

I asked my DR about 6 months ago about the whole process of getting GBP and she said we would talk about it at my next appt.Well it turned out the appt was set for 8w later and it was a new DR when I went in.I spoke with her about the process and she said well you need to do this and that and you have to have testing, are you sure you want to do all that hard work?

I looked at her and said,Do you see this beautiful child on my lap? Because of her and all her siblings yes I want to do it no matter the hard work.

She was not a person I wanted to go thru but unfortunatly I had to.Well she said I had to see th enutritionist.I did it even though ive seen like 3 of them and nothing changes no matter how I change my eating and cooking habits.Ive tried numerous diet pills with no success as to even curb my hunger.Ive done numerous diets and slim fast.I walk 3-5xs a week no matter what so its not like im sitting on my butt doing nothing.

I will be moving so I hope the next DR I see in another state is more receptive and supportive.I hope to get better news and get the process rolling.I do not know everything that has to be involved other than proving the diets ive done do not work or last, and numerous testing that has to be done to make sure im mentally and physically ready to have the procedure done.

I am not one who wants to be skinny by no means.I would be just happy to be under 200lbs .My ultimate goal is 160 even though that is concidered over weight also but that would be 127lbs less than I weigh now and I would actually beable to shop at target and wear somewhat trendy clothes and once in my life beable to wear jeans lol

I hope to get lots of info here and met new friends

welcome aboard... there are a few "gates" (hoops) we need to go through to get to the surgery... and then (from what I have read here) the "fun" begins... well, maybe the fun part is about 7-10 days LATER.

and good luck.

Default Welcome from anothe newbie

Hi and Welcome,

I am also another newbie. I didn't join the site till after surgery. (4/30/08) Everyone here has been so helpful with my journey. It takes alot of hoop jumping to get to the final results. But it is all worth it. Make sure you check out the surgeon it's important that you trust him or her completely. Where are you moving to?? I live in Oregon so I can only recommend someone here.

Good Luck
