Default I'm new!!!

Hello all! I am a single, 26 year old female from San Diego, CA. I had surgery with Dr. Callery in Poway, CA on May 20, 2008. Surgery went beautifully; I was up and around doing about 85% of my normal routine at about 3 days post-op. So far this experience has been a little more challenging than I anticipated. My first challenge was feeling as if the scale wasnt changing (that was probably due to the fact that I was weighing myself 6-7 times/day). I am quite happy to report that I have lost 21 pounds since 1 week before my surgery. The cravings were a problem initially, but I find that if I watch the Food Network on a regular basis and can watch other people enjoying food, it is an easier pill to swallow (backwards thinking...I know). I am proud to be a member of this community (The Incredible Shrinking Society-my affectionate name for us); and I hope that throughout this weight loss process I can maintain my inner light and realize that I'm in control now-the surgery will only be effective if I make it work by sticking to a healthy lifestyle full of activity and good food choices. I'm quite excited and I can't help but feeling like my future is so bright...I have to wear shades...lol!

Love that nickname, lol.

I too found watching food network somehow comforting.. I'm totally addicted to it now, and I never watched pre-op.. weird, huh?

Welcome to TT!
