here it goes!!!
Hi, I'm Sami from Philly. I go to the doctor tomorrow for my first visit. i dont know what to expect. All i know is that i am tired of being fat and i want my life back............... i have been a prisoner in my own body for too long. I have no support at home and when i tell people how i feel they think its funny or its not that serious. I wish i could walk down the street with my son........ i cant..............it hurts too bad....... i getting upset just thinking about it! I have nowhere else to turn.

Welcome Sam!! Like Bridgetgirl said, You're not alone!! I'm a newbie to the site (and WLS), but have learned that there are ALOT of people going through what you describe, and I feel better having them around, giving me advice. Just remember you have options, and you don't have to be a prisoner anymore! Hope the Drs. appointment went well! Good luck on your journey!

Thank you!!!
Wow!!!! I thank all of you for the support. My appointment went well, the doctor described the surgery in detail. Now i have to get some blood work done and have a EKG. i also need a letter from my cardiologist because i have a heart condition called atrial fibrillation. I'm so excited!!! I spend four hours on this site last night reading stories and looking at before and after pics. This is amazing. I will make sure i keep you guys updated and feel free to give me any suggestions.

Welcome Sam. Good luck with your weight loss journey. Being able to walk and play with my son was one of my main reasons for seeking out gastric bypass as well. I am 10 months post op and what a difference it has made. I feel great. This is a great place you have found.
