Default May be old, but I'm sure brand new to this!

I have attended the first WLS Seminar with Dr. Callery and will be having my first appointment with him on May 27, 2008.

My PCP has told me that if I don't get rid of this weight, I probably won't be around in five years. I have many health issues and this should resolve most them.

I found the love of my life later in life (we were 49 and 53....He's older...heheheh.) We have been married since 1999. Between the two of us, we have 4 growns sons, and 1 grown daughter. Add to that 9 amazing grandchildren and our lives are full.

We both love to dance and since I have two new Titanium hips, I plan to be able to dance after I get rid of this weight.

I would love to hear from any of you and get to know what my expectations are.

I have Aetna PPO insurance and they'll pay 90%.

Christie,
Welcome to the forum, and best of luck with your consultation!

You're in very good hands, both here and with my dad's office. I start working there part time next week, so perhaps I will be there when you come in for your consult, as well.

Anyways I hope you enjoy your time here on the forum!

Best,
John Callery

Welcome Welcome

Dr. Callery is great. I think I was at your weigh in meeting my first time back from surgery. I had my surgery 04/14/08 and I was only two weeks out at that meeting....This site is wonderful. Just ask and there are so many wonderful people that offer help...

If you need anything let me know..

Annette

Hey there, welcome! Sounds like you're very lucky to be in Dr. Callery's hands. Be sure to say "hi" to John if you're lucky enough to meet him. We're all super, super grateful to him and his dad for this Forum.

I wish you all the best on your journey. Both my parents found the loves of their life in their late 40's and 50's too, so I know how much of a new lease on life that gives you. Best wishes, and be sure to keep us updated on your progress.

Welcome again Christie!

Although I will not have my surgery done by Dr. Callery, I know that if it wasn't for him and his son John, this website would not be available, and I wouldn't have been as informed about this journey as I am now.

These people are wonderful!

Welcome!
I too have Aetna PPO and they were super easy. From start to finish it was about 4 months.

You'll do great and be so happy with the results. You'll probably wonder what took ya so long to do this.

Keep us posted.

Default Welcome!

Just wanted to say Hi to another CeeCee! Good luck on your journey- my pcp said pretty much the same thing to me too, I just got it a couple years earlier. (Our ages aren't too far apart!)
