Hello everybody. Don't know where to start. I'm scared and don't know what to do. I was ask by my doctor if I wanted the gastrice bypass and I told her I was scared and didn't want to think about it. Deep down I do need the surgery for so many reasons. The all the bad talks on what can happen, what will happen scares me real bad. I know I have health problems that are onset by my weight. Any help or friendly words would be helpful... I'll be 42 in June and have a beautiful 12 year old daughter that I need to be around for.

It is very natural to be scared...
My suggestion would be to research, research, research. There is alot of information out there! Many people have heard a horror story of a friend of a friend of an aunt whose cousin used to know this guy... and it scares them from looking further into WLS... I pray that you will take control of your health. Only you can make the decision on what you will do, but please don't choose to do nothing. Meet with doctors and nutritionists make a plan and take charge. For many, gastric bypass this is the way. For many, other weight loss surgery is the way. And for still many others, diet, and exercise can do the trick and they can maintain it. Good luck! And and keep us posted on your journey
