Default Hi Everyone!

Hi everyone!

My name is Cassie. I'm a "newbie" and tomorrow I will be 14 days post-op. I wasn't crazy about the first week, but this week is going oh-so-much better thanks to having a super surgeon, great kids that have taken care of me, and this forum! Thank you all, especially Lisa, for offering encouragement, realism, and helpful hints.

I began to view the forum a couple of weeks before my Roux-n-y surgery and although I read a lot, I keep coming back to this forum. The reason for my most recent visit is because for the past few days, I have this horrible feeling that somehow my doctor did something wrong and my stomach is much larger than it should be. I shouldn't be complaining because I have lost 18 lbs in the past 13 days (water weight I'm sure, but who cares - it's not coming back), but I don't feel full. I'm not truly hungry - I just have head hunger and I'm fighting that from time to time - but I'm also not full and I feel like I could just keep eating and eating and eating. It's scary. How would I know if the staples opened up or something? Why am I not feeling full? I found myself eating 8oz of pureed chili yesterday and then I felt horribly guilty afterwards. Today, I am watching my portions - but I didn't think that I would have the feeling of NOT being full so early in the process. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know how we can tell if the staples are no longer holding?

Thanks so much!
Cassie

Hi Cassie

Congrats on fighting your way through 'hell' week! Sounds like you are doing really well.

I also found that I didn't really feel full at the beginning but for some reason the full feeling kicked in about week 3 so maybe yours is yet to kick in.

Try not to worry too much - the scale is going in the right direction and that's what counts!

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement! I'm trying to take it day by day - but this is nagging me a bit.

Aww bless you! What a lovely thing to say!

You will do absolutely fine. It's early days yet and soon enough someone will be on here saying what an inspiration you are to them.
