Default New to Forum

Just wanted to say hey I'm new to this! I had Gastric Bypass Surgery the day after christmas it couldn't have happened at a better time...I thought New year...New Me I was at my biggest weight ever 316 which my goal weight set by them is 143 and at times I think that is too little but hey ya never know? I personally would be content at 160-165 we will see! So far I have lost 80lbs. in a little over 4 months which is remarkable to me as before I'd lose 5-10 lbs. here and there only to gain more back sad but true the weightloss struggle continued until I made the choice to have surgery. I had many co-workers who had surgery and always told me I should think about it which I did long and hard!!! I also had many who told me lots of negative things to discourage me! The funny part is those are the same ones who tell me now how great I look and are even considering surgery themselves...lol I would recommend surgery to anyone who has BATTLED THE BULGE!!!!! I myself had never had any kind of surgery ever and honestly was scared to death not knowing what to expect So here I am as an advocate to anyone considering surgery because I myself would do it again tomorrow if I had to! I look forward to chatting with other members as my new journey continues~

Sounds like you made the right move for you.....and not listening to the "others" has helped you. Think about where you could have been without the surgery.

Welcome Shan and congratulations on a great weight loss.

I never had a final goal when I started out - just mini ones. I figured that ultimately, I'd know when I was at a weight that was comfortable for me.

My goal was set by the Doctor which my realistic weight that I feel i'd be happy at is 160-165 Which like you said ultimately it is one Ill be comfortable at! But maybe i'll like 143 just seems so small to me being the big girl I once was
