Red face Scheduled for surgery June 9, 2008

Hi, I'm new to "Thinner Times". I am finally scheduled for surgery June 9, 2008. I am excited and really looking forward to starting the rest of my new life. I have lost down to my goal weight once when I was 27 years old but that was 1/2 a lifetime ago. I'm looking forward to this journey, and I am glad that I have found you all for advise and support along the way.

Thanks,

Becky

Thumbs up Skinny@55 4 me 2!

Welcome Skinny55! I just turned 55 last week and today I have my appointment with the nutritionist and on the 12th with the shrink. In between (next Thursday), I have a bi-lateral lumbar epidural for severe pain due to degenerative disk disease. I am so excited too - I want to start my new life quickly and safely. Hopefully this will be my last trip to the surgery center for those long needles! Good Luck, and please let us know how your surgery goes.
April in Northern Cal
PS I'm Lap RNY (I hope)

Becky, welcome to the forum and congratulations on getting a date. The day will be here before you know it! You've been brave enough to make a life changing decision for yourself. It can be the best gift you have ever given yourself but it can also be a very bumpy road. So jump right in, do a lot of reading, ask a lot of questions and grab on to some hands because the more support you have and the more knowledge you have ahead of time the better it will be for you when those bumps and stumbles come...because they do come but it is also possible to pick yourself up and go on.
