hi
I have PCOS, Hypothyroidism, Rheumatoid Arthritis and the reason why I wanted to do the band is because I need to get rid of the medication.
I had allergy to the medication once and I lost my voice for almost 2 years...
I weight 98 Kilos but I am almost vegetarian.
If I could eat at least 30% less food I would be able to loose the extra 39 kilos
I go to the gym everyday (less than before, though), but in order to loose and maintain the weight loss I would have to exercise 3 hours per day.
I like eating and even though I don't drink and don't eat red meet as my arthritis does not allow me, but with exercise and diet I still struggle to maintain my weight.
Last year I had 112 kilos and I manage to loose quite a lot, but though extreme diet and exercise.
Some of the unsuccessful bypass surgery from the forums here in this site it did scare me a bit.
I meet with a group of people that had the band surgery but the majority of them were not successful.
Also, because I love eating vegetables the band might not be best option for me, and cutting my stomach is out of the question.
I am very allergic to anything. I also wonder if I am going to reject the band as I am also allergic to plastic and I was not able to get my surgeon to check on the materials of the Band. And I am allergic to niquel in the metal.
I am confused. Please help
Thanks

Hello and Welcome.
I am sorry I cant comment on Banding proceedures, however I know the majority are successful and also the majority of Gastric Bypass are successful.
These proceedures have a great potential of giving a person a new life. For me, I was heavy for almost all my life and tried numerous weight loss programs and self conducted diets. Anytime I lost, I gained it back and then some.
I too had diabetis, artheritis in my hips and alot of extra weight causing skin infections that put me in the hospital several times very sick. I now have no diabetis, recently had my hip replaced and the day after that surgery stopped pain meds, I am walking without pain now and this is wonderful after 4 years of pain, all this is due to having the Gastric Bypass surgery and loosing alot of weight.
After time a persons body cant take the excess weight anymore and it gets tired, I am a prime example, and I always thought before I turned 40 I was someone special because I was healthy and fat and did almost all activities I wanted. When I think back about the way I used to think I can see I was really deceiving myself.
I wish you alot of success in your journey forward and again welcome here.
