Hi everyone
I'm new to TT, but also completely new to all the information out there related to Gastric Bypass, and Gastric Band surgery. I came here...hoping to find out what's in store for a girl like me beginning her own journey to a happier, healthier life.
A bit about me~
I'm 20 years old, and a college student studying to become a Veterinarian. I come from a BIG family if you get my drift. So I can honestly say I don't know what it's like to be thin. I began thinking about having surgery my Senior year in high school after my mother had a Gastric Bypass performed on her. It's been 5 years since she's had it done, and I've never seen her so happy in my entire life.
At that time I decided I would take the hard road and try to do it on my own, but now reaching the end of my college career, and starting my 20s I'm still the same old me...and then some.
I'm praying and hoping that this surgery can be the tool that I need to lose the weight, avoid diabetes, and regain control of my life. I've taken the first step and made an appointment with a physician in my area and ready to find out if I can make this happen. The big thing that scares me is that my insurance won't cover it.

At this point though...gathering information seems to be the best bet.
I'm excited to learn more about these procedures and hopefully have this performed before the new semester starts again the fall. Thanks for reading, and it's lovely to meet everyone here~
