Just had Surgery on Tuesday
Hi everyone, im Christina. I was on another WLS forum but decided to jump on over here.
anyways.. im in alittle pain; my drain sorta aches and my belly is swollen and wont shut up! lol.
alittle about me:
I'm 5'3 - 270 pounds. My goal is 140 or 130 I hope I can get down to that
but yeah; here I am. small question too: when will the immense pain de down? (my right side is really fluffy and sore; on the 23rd i get my drain taken out and i hope the pain goes away by then)

Welcome
Hi Christina and welcome aboard the TT family.
Sorry to hear that you are having discomfort at this time. Did you get something for the pain? I would contact your Dr. or surgeon and request something and also advise them of the pain you are having. For me I was without pain from the gastric bypass surgery. The drains are there because of the fluids in your skin of coarse so that is probably why the fluffy/puffy feeling.
I hope that you will get past the discomforts quickly and be on your way to a wonderful life ahead of you. Have patience and remember that all ggod things take some time.
All the best to you Christina.

i got some red liquid pain medicine; it works but i only got one refil of it - then got two other medicatins.. one medication to prevent ulcers and the other to prevent gallstones
I know patience is the best thing to have right now, but omg - i hate being in discomfort LOL
<3 thanks for the quick response!

Hej Christina!
Welcome on board!
The first week is often referred to "Hell Week", for the evident reasons.
Usually when a patient gets home, a lot of support makes the journey easier by being on home territory!
Make damn sure you drink, and rest as much as you possibly can - that helps reduce pain, anaesthesia and tiredness!
Keep walking, gently, too!
Well done lass! You're a young'un and you'll do well! Just think of what your life without surgery would have continued to be!
Cheers,
Vim in London UK

Hang in there Christina and if the pain doesn't stop presto(soon), please get ahold of your Dr. for additional help. At this time I would say that you need to get your strength back and not be uncomfortable with having pain.

Yes, you should definitely feel better after the first week. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and still felt pretty rough on the following weekend. Getting the drain out will be a blessing, too. Just make sure you take some pain meds BEFORE having the drain out and let someone drive you to the appointment. I felt immensely better a couple of days after getting drain out. It DOES get better! Hang in there!
