I could have sat at a desk if I'd HAD to do it one week out, but it wouldn't have been easy. At two weeks, no problem. Standing? I would really hate to try it at one week out.

Oh, I took three weeks off. My third week off was Spring Break at school. I would have gone back then if it hadn't been vacation. Two weeks off was good for me.

dont even think about it!!!
This surgery KICKS YOUR BUTT, I know, i'm 8 days out.
I've arranged for ( on my surgeons advice) 8 weeks out of work....yep, 8 weeks.
Of course it all comes under short-term disability, so i'm paid still ( thank god) but give yourself a good month or better....you'll be happy you did. I think i'm also going to realize this as well.

I took three weeks off from work and worked on building up my strength and getting some food in me. I sit at my desk most of the day but still I only made it til 3pm the first day back. I was exhausted and my mind a little hazy. I had a very easy time with surgery and post-op but was extremely tired.

Default I don't understand..

This surgery entails having our bodies cut into, and our body parts rerouted.. and in need of healing! Rushing back to work is not going to help in the healing process at all. This is major surgery after all.

And though, yes, some people are able to go back faster than others, you can't *count* on your being that person before you are even admitted to the hospital..

(I expected to be out four weeks.. was out eight)
